Quick Start

Six steps

From zero to running

Follow these in order. Each step builds on the previous one.

01Link your first account
Holdings → Accounts → Connect Account

Choose your bank from the Plaid directory and authorize read-only access. Transactions start flowing immediately. Your credentials never touch Rikdom's servers.

~2 minutes
02Confirm 5 categories
Management → Transactions

Your recent transactions will have suggested categories. Tap the checkmark on 5 of them to confirm — this trains the auto-categorization engine to learn your patterns.

~2 minutes
03Allocate this month's income
Management → Blueprint

Enter your monthly income, then assign dollars to categories until "Ready to Assign" hits $0. This is zero-based budgeting — every dollar gets a job.

~3 minutes
04Add one real asset
Holdings → Real Assets → Add Asset

Add your home, car, or another tangible asset. Property values auto-refresh via RentCast. Your net worth now reflects more than just your bank balance.

~1 minute
05Set your first goal
Goals → Create

Define a target amount, deadline, and link the accounts that contribute to it. Rikdom calculates your success probability and tracks velocity automatically.

~2 minutes
06Review your dashboard
Dashboard

See your 4 KPIs, net worth trend, and any opportunities at a glance. From here, everything updates automatically. Check in weekly — or daily, if you're that kind of person.

Quick answers

Navigate to Holdings → Accounts and click "Connect Account." Choose your bank or brokerage, log in through Plaid or SnapTrade's secure interface, and authorize read-only access. Your credentials never touch Rikdom's servers — authentication happens entirely through our SOC 2 Type II compliant partners.
Essentials ($9/mo) covers budgeting, cash flow tracking, net worth, real asset tracking, and goals. Pro ($16/mo) adds the Intelligence layer: Monte Carlo projections, tax-loss harvesting, smart rebalancing, AI-powered insights, and community benchmarks. Both include a 31-day free trial.
Rikdom uses a 6-step priority cascade: (1) your custom rules, (2) auto-learned patterns after 3 confirmed transactions, (3) recurring transaction detection, (4) Plaid's built-in categorization, (5) a 999-merchant seed map, and (6) Claude AI as a fallback. The system gets smarter with every confirmation — we're targeting under 5% manual categorization within a month.
Instead of projecting a single growth line ("you'll have $2M in 30 years"), Monte Carlo runs 10,000 possible futures that account for market volatility and sequence-of-returns risk. The result is a probability distribution — you see the median outcome, the best case, the worst case, and everything in between. It's how institutional advisors model retirement readiness.
All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256, by our database host) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Account connections use read-only OAuth via SOC 2 Type II compliant partners — Plaid for banks, SnapTrade for brokerages. We never store your login credentials. Row-Level Security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data.
Yes. Export transaction history to CSV from the Transactions page. Additional export options for budgets, net worth snapshots, and simulation results are in development. Your data is yours.
