Import from YNAB
Drop your YNAB export and Rikdom rebuilds your accounts, categories, transactions, and monthly targets — automatically. About five minutes from upload to a working budget. Then come the parts YNAB doesn't do.

What carries over
Every checking, savings, credit card, and tracking account — typed correctly from the name. Adjust anything we got wrong before committing.
Master groups map to Rikdom’s five categories (committed, operating, discretionary, funds, income). Hidden categories come over inactive — your structure stays intact.
Full register history with splits and transfers paired automatically. Cleared and reconciled rows arrive approved. Memos, payees, and amounts unchanged.
The Assigned amounts from your Plan CSV land as Rikdom budget allocations, month by month. Re-run the import any time — duplicates skip themselves.
Three steps
In YNAB, open Settings → Export Budget. You’ll get a ZIP with two CSVs: Plan and Register. That’s the whole file we need.
Drop the ZIP into Rikdom’s import wizard. We’ll show every account and category we detected, with our best guess for type and Rikdom master. Adjust anything that looks off.
One click. Your budget appears on Blueprint. Transactions on the register. Monthly targets in their right months. From here, the investing surfaces (projections, tax-loss harvesting, holdings) light up.
Why now
If you’ve been on YNAB for a while, you already know what envelope budgeting can do. The thing it can’t do is show you the bigger picture: net worth across investments and real assets, projections into retirement, tax-aware optimizations on the brokerage side. That’s where Rikdom starts.
A few details
Yes. Every transaction gets a deterministic fingerprint on the way in, so re-running the same export skips every row that’s already there. Use it as many times as you want during the migration.
Rikdom doesn’t mirror credit card categories the way YNAB does — cards are tracked as liabilities, payments are transfers, and your spending categorizes by what you bought. We skip YNAB’s Credit Card Payments group during import. The math works out cleaner on the other side.
No. Categories under YNAB’s Hidden Categories master come over too — just marked inactive, so they don’t clutter your active budget. Reactivate any of them later from settings.
USD only for now. Hidden category targets land inactive. YNAB’s carry-forward Available math doesn’t map cleanly onto Rikdom’s rollover — we import the targets, not the running available, so you’ll re-budget the current month with fresh eyes.
Yes. Both can run side by side. Most people import to Rikdom, watch a budget cycle play out on both, and decide. There’s no lock-in either way.
Sign up, drop your YNAB export, and pick up where you left off — with the rest of your finances finally in one place.
Read-only import. Your YNAB account is never touched.
